    Owner, FIT4MOM Baltimore City

FIT4MOM Certified FIT4BABY, Stroller Strides, Stroller Barre, Strides 360, Body Ignite, and Body Boost Instructor
FIT4MOM Certified Run Club+ and Body Well Coach

    Rachel's Bio:

FIT4MOM has been active in Baltimore since 2004 >>WOW<< and I’ve owned FIT4MOM Baltimore City since 2014! I’ve loved the years I’ve spent as owner (plus the months before when I was a member). When my oldest daughter was born, I had taken an extended leave of absence as a classroom teacher and had no plan how to spend my days. Soon after realizing that I wasn't getting out much, and that I didn’t have many mom friends in my neighborhood, I saw an ad for a free Body Back (now called Body Boost) preview class in the park down the street, I knew I had to go. Yes, I wanted to work out, but I also NEEDED a community. The ad promised both. It didn’t take long for me to get what I came for, and then some: strength and endurance improved, friends made, my husband got to spend time bonding with our oldest... it was magical.✨

The next thing I knew, I was entering into business ownership and working on group fitness certifications. There was a lot to learn, but it has been more than worth it! I love doing for other moms what FIT4MOM did for me. It introduced me to amazing people and helped me fall in love with physical and emotional wellness alongside other women in my same stage of life. Seeing the magic that continues to happen in Our Village drives me to do what I do each and every day. As with most things in motherhood, I can’t and I don’t do it alone. Many thanks to all who have been and who continue to be by my side in this crazy beautiful journey through motherhood.

  • Heather Macey

FIT4MOM Certified FIT4BABY, Stroller Strides, Stroller Barre, Strides 360, Body Ignite, and Body Boost Instructor

    Heather's Bio:

My FIT4MOM journey all started with a gift certificate purchased by my brother in-law as a Christmas gift. After attending classes for several months, I joined the instructor crew! I had scheduling conflicts with the prenatal yoga class I taught, so this was a perfect fit!

FIT4MOM Baltimore City is such an amazing village to be a part of. I wouldn’t have survived my first year of parenting and becoming a mama of two without them. I feel honored to help other mamas find the connections I found all while helping them get stronger and healthier. I love providing a challenging class but offering different variations to allow each mama to work within what is best for her that day. Most importantly, I am able to set a healthy example for my kids and teach them that exercise can be fun! It is exciting to watch kids mimic our exercises after class or sing the songs we use. They will grow up knowing that exercise is fun and enjoyable, and a way to gain friendships.
  • Vi Gilmore

FIT4MOM Certified Body Boost and Strides 360 Instructor

    Vi's Bio:

I started as a weekend Stroller Strides client when my son was 15 months old (why did I wait so long?!) and soon became a Body Back client. After completing 3 Body Back sessions, I became an instructor. Now that I'm expecting my second child, I'm also a FIT4BABY client!

FIT4MOM Baltimore City's amazing programs have given me so much more than physical strength. They’ve given me the mental strength and most supportive village to help me be the best mom I can be. As an instructor, I love helping moms rediscover their strength, both inside and out. I'm so happy to be a part of this awesome village!

  • Stephanie Shepard

FIT4MOM Certified FIT4BABY, Stroller Strides, Body Boost, Body Ignite, and Strides 360 Instructor

    Stephanie's Bio:

I learned about Stroller Strides from another mom in our neighborhood. My son was only 10 weeks old when I tried my first class and, only 6 weeks later, I became a Stroller Strides instructor!

I am originally from Indiana and a swimming scholarship brought me to the University of Maryland, graduating with a B.S. in Kinesiology. Before being a stay at home mom, I was a USA Age Group/High School swim coach and personal trainer.

FIT4MOM Baltimore City is one of the best things that happened to me since becoming a mom! I didn’t have “mom friends” in the area and now I have an amazing supportive Village! It is a privilege to be a FIT4MOM instructor to help moms through their fitness and motherhood journeys and to lead by example the importance of exercise!

  • Theresa Ridgley

FIT4MOM Certified FIT4BABY, Body Boost, and Body Ignite Instructor
    FIT4MOM Certified Body Well Coach

    Theresa's Bio:

My FIT4MOM journey started when I was pregnant with my first baby. I joined FIT4BABY in hopes of keeping active and meeting other moms. I was not disappointed! I loved how fun and focused our workouts were and how energized and strong I felt after class. I also met an amazing group of mamas; we quickly became a support system for each other throughout the remainder of our pregnancies, the delivery of our babies, postpartum, and beyond. We get together for dinner and play dates to this day!

Motherhood was truly the first time in my life I learned to appreciate my body and accept it throughout its many forms. I have carried two babies over the past three years and FIT4MOM Baltimore City has afforded me opportunities to feel strong and social no matter which “phase” I happened to be in at that time. I took FIT4BABY with both babies, did two rounds of Body Back (now Body Well) between babies, and enjoy popping into stroller classes when I can.
  • Kimberly Kelly

    FIT4MOM Certified Running Coach

    Kim's Bio:

My FIT4MOM journey started when I was pregnant and was searching for connection with other mamas. I have enjoyed every FIT4MOM class I have attended and have been so thankful for the support of Our Village. After a little more than a year of taking classes I decided to pay if forward and become a FIT4MOM Run Club Coach!

Running has been my passion since middle school and has kept me steady in my life through all sorts of ups and downs, moves, and life changes including motherhood. As a runner I have completed all distances of races from 5K – Marathon and have more recently been working on improving my stroller running so I can bring my daughter along for the ride. I am so excited to share my passion for running with my fellow mamas and support others in meeting their wellness goals.

  • Kristin Murphy

FIT4MOM Certified Stroller Strides, Strides 360, and FIT4BABY Instructor

    Kristin's Bio:

My FIT4MOM journey started in late February 2020. My oldest was about 5 months old, and I desperately needed to get out of the house. I was going to a once a week mommy and me yoga class and while I loved it, once a week just wasn’t enough. So after many google and Facebook searches I came across FIT4MOM and after my first class I was 100% sold. FIT4MOM kept me sane during lockdown and I credit the smooth labor of my daughter to keeping up with my FIT4MOM and FIT4BABY workouts.

When I heard that FIT4MOM was looking for new instructors, I thought what a great opportunity to give back to the village that had given me so much in the past two years. I am looking forward to helping other mamas on their fitness journey and being a part of the FIT4MOM team.

  • Gabriela Batek

    FIT4MOM Certified Stroller Strides Instructor

I learned about Stroller Strides from a coworker when my daughter was 5 months old. I was looking for a way to fit exercise into my life and connect with other moms. When I tried my first class, I was instantly hooked by the workout and welcoming atmosphere! Just over 6 weeks later, I became a Stroller Strides instructor!

I played tennis growing up and all throughout college. I was able to share what I love and learned about tennis by coaching coed high school tennis for nine years.

FIT4MOM Baltimore City brought me a routine that I had been craving while on an extended maternity leave from teaching high school special education. I had been a very active person prior to getting pregnant and Stroller Strides was the perfect way to get back into working out- all while meeting other moms and having babies in tow.

I love being able to workout with my daughter and be a part of such a supportive community. I’m looking forward to sharing the amazing benefits of Stroller Strides and the incredible community of FIT4MOM with more moms.
  • Michaeline Farzad

    Playgroup Coordinator

    Michaeline's Bio:

My FIT4MOM journey started in our pediatrician’s office where I saw a flyer for classes and thought it would be a great way to get out with my kids, exercise, and be a part of a community. After my first class I was hooked!

Our family is relatively new to Baltimore City. Originally from Southern California, I worked in education as a college instructor and K-12 substitute teacher. After I had our oldest son and my husband started working for the government, I became a stay-at-home mom. We lived in Washington D.C., spent a few years overseas in Italy, and now we’ve found our home here in Baltimore!

I am so happy to have joined FIT4MOM, first as Stroller Strides attendee and now as the Playgroup Coordinator. I’m so honored and excited to help other moms in the city find the same welcoming village and positive environment – and to have some fun with our little ones!
  • Mary Saha

    Book Club Coordinator

    Mary's Bio:

I heard how wonderful the FIT4MOM Baltimore City community was even before I became a mom. I found out how true that is after my son was born, and I joined the FIT4MOM Run Club and took Body Boost classes. FIT4MOM classes are not only great for my physical and mental wellbeing, but also for my spirit. I am surrounded by supportive mamas who help me navigate motherhood.

The LIT4MOM Book Club provides another space for Our Village to connect, and I am thrilled to help maintain that space as its coordinator. Reading is like traveling: we learn about the world, experience other cultures, and gain perspective. Sharing our thoughts about our journey with a book is so exciting. Please join us for our next LIT4MOM Book Club meeting!

  • Clare Mather

    MNO & Engagement Coordinator

    Clare's Bio:

My FIT4MOM journey started when I was pregnant with my second baby and knew how important a community of moms would be in this stage of life. Attending classes, playgroups, and Mom's Nights Out have helped me feel like myself and given me a community on the most challenging parenting days. As a former fitness instructor, I love how positive and empowering movement alongside a community can be.

I grew up in Baltimore County, went to University of Maryland, lived out of state for a few years and now am happily re-settled in Baltimore with my husband and 2 kids. I have a degree in nutrition science and worked in the public health sector before staying at home with my kids. FIT4MOM has been so helpful in getting us out of the house, staying active (while keeping the kids entertained!), and building a community of Baltimore moms in the same stage of life.

I'm so excited to help foster the FIT4MOM community that has meant so much to me by planning fun things for Our Village!
